Letter to my mom

Writer Shawn Smucker has a series on his blog called “Letters To Those We’ve Lost” where he features letters from guests. Some of the letters were so powerful and beautiful, I decided to write my own. I was not enough to live for. Do you realize how embarrassing and awkward it makes a kid’s life when she has been abandoned by her mom? I didn’t cry, didn’t grieve, for about eight years. When the tears eventually came, they were agonizing.

I too have won the life lottery! Thanks for being willing to share your journey with us. I too have walked a painful path, but would not change any part of it because it helped me to win that life lottery and know God’s unending love for me and all of us.
    God Bless!
